Description
Offshore Legal have been approached by a major client to source an experienced Compliance Manager (to head up a new Compliance department) for their Bermuda office. The successful candidate will review, measure and monitor all compliance activity with regulatory obligations as they relate to the provision of insurance management, listing sponsor services, trust and corporate administration services in Bermuda, to ensure risks and issues are identified, managed and controlled.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Supervise the monitoring of clients for compliance with Bermuda’s Anti-Money Laundering regime
- Identify, report and escalate risk management issues and recommendations to the Global Director of Risk and Compliance and the Board as required
- Assume responsibility as the Money Laundering Reporting Officer for responding to questions arising out of the Proceeds of Crime legislation, receiving and reporting and the duties imposed upon the company as both non-regulated and regulated institutions under that act
- Act as a member of the Group Compliance Committee which establishes, maintains and reviews anti-money laundering policies, procedures, guidelines and programs for ensuring compliance at a group level
- Lead the company’s FATCA/CRS procedures
- Supervise the acceptance of new client business in line with policies and procedures, and maintain approval log in line with business intake committee procedures
- Supervise and provide guidance to members of the Compliance Department
Ideally candidates will have a professional qualification (ICSA, STEP or law degree etc) and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in regulatory compliance within a legal, banking, government or insurance environment. A relevant Compliance qualification would also be beneficial.
