Description

Offshore Legal has been given instruction to source a highly accomplished individual who will be tasked with developing and leading a multi-jurisdictional business development team. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the business development strategy in consultation with Legal Executive Board and Service Line partners in support of the overall business plan
  • In conjunction with BD service line managers, develop and deliver business development plans
  • Develop and implement key client and intermediary programmes in conjunction with relationship partners and BD managers
  • Develop and implement CRM strategy, with extensive use of internal and external data to inform an effective strategy and practical implementation
  • Agency management when outsourcing key activities and initiatives to external agencies (as appropriate) based on available budgets and resourcing.
  • Support and promote the firm’s client service focus by ensuring effective and real time client service feedback (team member responsible for Acuigen programme) plus ongoing development of client service standards
  • Lead and motivate BD team, setting clear and meaningful and realistic objectives
  • Support an entrepreneurial approach to practice management and business development within the Partnership
  • Drive a Business Development culture in the organisation supported by a structured training programme to ensure all BD activity achieves maximum return on investment
  • Create actionable personal development plans
  • Conduct timely performance reviews as part of creating a highly engaged and effective team

 Competencies

  • Extensive BD experience (10 years +), including at least 4 at management level
  • Should be skilled and experienced in leading strategic changes and getting positive results
  • Proven track record successfully managing teams at a leadership level and driving business improvements
  • Excellent written communication skills including being able draft written communications on behalf of the Legal Executive Board
  • Excellent verbal communications skills including being able to deliver effective presentations to employees and the media
  • Able to develop effective relationships with partners and senior management
  • Excellent budgetary management and reporting
