Description
Offshore Legal has been given a brand new instruction to source an experienced Professional Support Lawyer for their Bermuda office. The individual in this role will be accountable for developing and implementing local and practice-specific knowledge management strategies and initiatives. There will be significant autonomy in this role, allowing plenty of scope for development.
The successful candidate will need to be a qualified lawyer with at least five years’ experience with a broad practical experience of commercial matters and extensive experience delivering advice to clients. Previous experience creating/building a PSL role/department within a recognized city firm would be ideal!
Key Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for identifying key precedents, maintaining records or precedents and reporting on knowledge activities
- Responsible for ensuring the timely dissemination of case law and legislative/regulatory developments relevant to the firm’s practice
- Develop legal briefing on matters of specific relevance to the firm
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current development and prepare summaries for internal distribution
- Responsible for planning and implementation of internal and external training sessions and seminars for lawyers, managers, administrators and other staff on all aspects of law, practice and policy
- Assist the lawyers (and others) with legal and industry research as and when required, to include contributing to the production of articles, briefings, newsletters or other materials for circulation to clients or to be published in journals
